Durkan Creates Show-Stopping Hospitality Interiors with its Calliope Carpet Collection
MARIETTA, Ga., February 16, 2009 — Hospitality patrons will experience the fun and excitement of a magical spectacle with the premiere of Durkan's new Calliope Collection of carpet. Ideally suited for entertainment venues, Calliope allows designers to create playful spaces with a hint of whimsy.
Named after the calliope — a large musical instrument that produces sound by sending steam through whistles, once popular at circuses, carnivals, and on riverboats — the Collection highlights swirling patterns, starry sequences and floating musical notes. Featuring a palette of vivid, bold colors, Calliope encompasses 12 patterns: two corridor patterns, one medallion inset, six broadloom patterns, and three four-door rugs. For added pizzazz, Calliope can be produced using Durkan's Electra-Dye yarn system (glow-in-the-dark yarns), offering an illuminating design option for backlight settings.
Calliope is available in print, or with Durkan's Synthesis™ base grades. Developed from a proprietary, patent pending process, Synthesis layers patterns over texture to bring a never-before-achieved dimension to hospitality flooring.
From the hotel lobby and corridors to guest rooms and ballrooms, casinos, and areas of assisted living facilities, Durkan is world-renowned as an industry leader in innovative design solutions and high style, high-performance hospitality carpeting.
